Shortly about Rana
Rana is a 19 year old hybrid, who was born and raised in a laboratory! Most of the time she's overjoyed, even though she looks exhausted.
She has a really complex personality while struggling with various things. She's semi-verbal, kleptomaniac, experiences hallucinations, and at some point of life she was taken to a mental hospital.
An interesting ability of her is that she's able to see really small parts of the future with the help of flowers.

Her backstory
Rana was lab-born, "crafted together" by the laboratory's lead scientist, Dr. Jaden. He's her "father" whom she calls papa. Jaden in order to make the, back then, young girl more comfortable around him, started calling her Nana instead of her name.
The scientists in the laboratory were trying to mix human and animal genes for decades.
You see, all way along, they were experimenting either with people kidnapped from a war, or taken from orphanages, nameless people whom no one would look for anyways.
The experiments didn't go as planned though, instead of curing mortals' doom, they created monsters. After 21 years of the scientists trying, Jaden came up with the idea to try modifying genes even before the individual is born.
It cost him hard work, tears, and leaving his family, but it worked in the end. A girl was born, half fox, half human, partly gecko. Jaden deemed her perfect without her even needing to try.
The process of her being born this way affected her though, since she couldn't fully develop some of the common human traits, such as speaking. Rana was born semi-verbal, but with a lot of work, she began to be able to talk more and more.

Connections
Dr. Jaden - "Father"/Creator
It all started with Jaden. While all the scientists were trying to achieve results in the same way with minor changes, Jaden changed the entire process. And he succeed. Rana was born, his little girl, his only success, whom he'd protect with his life. She's the only thing he's able to take care of well, besides flowers.
Alexei - Best Friend
After stumbling into a storeroom of the lab, Rana found old pictures and stuff, including Alexei's ID. Alexei was one of the first experiments of Dr. Jade, but he soon died due to "being ill". After taking Alexei's sweater, without knowing it was his, Rana begins to see Alexei's ghost, even being able to communicate with him. They soon become close friends.
Anastasiy - Brother Figure
Rana confessed seeing Alexei's ghost to his "father", but Jade said she must be just having nightmares. Anastasiy, Alexei's former bestfriend overheard it and started asking about it from Rana. She's trying to become friends with Anastasiy, but she's annoying him a lot most of the time. Despite that, he acts like a protective brother.
Mora - Shoulder "Devil"
Mora is part of Rana's hallucinations, Rana's mind made her up for comfort, and to objectify her furthest feelings, to let her understand them better since she never had a stable childhood among normal humans, so it's difficult for her to understand feelings. Mora is a constant voice, like a shoulder devil, but she's the melancholic feeling.
Cherise - Shoulder "Angel"
Cherise is another one of Rana's hallucinations, the "overjoyed" feeling Rana so often seems to have, even when inside she doesn't feel happy. Cherise helps Rana understand that being happy is important, but she doesn't always have to be happy, and she could be sad too. Cherise supports Mora the same way too, even if Mora isn't real.
Ryan - First Friend
When Rana was around 17, Jaden's son, Ryan managed to find him and he started working in the laboratory in order to earn his father's affection. He was tasked with cleaning, giving food to the monsters, and taking care of Rana when Jaden was busy. Rana and Ryan, became friends, he was Rana's first real friend.
Blade - Situationship
After the laboratory was shut down, the police sent every individual they thought had any human left in them into separate mental hospitals. Rana was sent into one too, where she met her situationship, Blade. Blade isn't connected to the laboratory in any way, this mental hospital isn't a private one. Blade is there because of his recurring depression.
