Shortly about Alexei
Alexei is a 22 year old ghost, born in a small town, and later taken from a war to the lab. He seems grumpy except when he's with one of his friends.
He doesn't have many friends, so he appreciates every one of them.
At some point of his life he died, the cause of his death was apparently "health issues". A few people can still see his ghost, but Dr. Jaden tries his best to deny it.

His backstory
Alexei was born in small town, but despite that his family worked hard enough to live well. Alexei had a sibling, 6 years younger than him, but he died from cholera early. His father died when Alexei was young too, so he stayed with just his mother.
His mother treated him well, working hard to mantain an enjoyable life for him, but the house became too quiet for Alexei.
Soon Alexei decided to become a soldier in order to escape the silence. And it worked, in wars the silence never followed.
After 2 years, while fighting in a war, Alexei was kidnapped. He thought he'd become a hostage, but he ended up in a laboratory.
At first, the head scientist was good to him, kind, even. He explained Alexei what's going to happen and why. Alexei may haven't understood everything, but he couldn't do anything against it, not really.
Soon enough, Dr. Jaden's visits became less frequent, then they stopped altogether. And the other scientists, the inspectors started handling him more roughly.

Dr. Jaden - Kidnapper/"Caretaker"
Jaden treated Alexei kindly at first, explaining everything, seemingly being gentle. Alexei even found comfort in the lab at first, where his "caretaker" seemed kind and from the endless humanoids it was never quiet. He thought he found the home he didn't know he was looking for, but he was wrong. Jaden soon started neglecting him, while the other started to treat him roughly.
Rana - Close Friend
After Rana stumbled into a storeroom of the lab, she found old pictures and stuff, including his ID. Alexei was one of the first experiments of Dr. Jade, but he soon died due to "being ill". After taking Alexei's sweater, without knowing it was his, Rana begins to see Alexei's ghost, even being able to communicate with him. They soon become close friends.
Anastasiy - Best Friend
Anastasiy and Alexei met in the lab, quickly becoming close friends, though Anastasiy not sure if friendship is the only thing he feels for Alexei. While going trough hard times, they could always rely on eachother, then it abruptly ended when Alexei passed away.
